What to you need before booking a lesson.

You will need a provisional driving licence and be 17 years or over. Unless you want your first lesson on your birthday, call me at least two weeks before you intend to start learning. 

Make sure you can read a car number plate from 20 meters, this is about 5 car lengths.

If you can’t then you should visit the opticians before considering driving.

Booking a theory test.

You can book this at any time even before you start learning to drive.

You must be 17 to sit the test.

How to prepare for your theory test including the hazard perception test.

First thing is to buy and read through the highway code, James can provide one for you if you don't have one. Then buy a training app, the dvsa app is a good one  and work you way through the questions, Practice the hazard perception that you can buy as part of your package.  After a few weeks of practice you should think about booking the theory test online at www.gov.uk/browse/driving/learning-to-drive

Booking your driving test.

You must have first passed the theory test before you can book the driving test.

 You can book a test on line at gov.uk or by phone.

You will need your theory certificate number, driving license number, James' driving instructor ADI number and some form of payment

Lesson structure.

Each lesson begins with a quick recap of the last lesson and a brief description of today’s lesson.

James will also book your next lesson at this time, this will be written on your appointment card.

At the end of the lesson you will be given a debrief and also be asked what you like be doing at your next lesson.
